During the 50+ years that Steven Haskett has practiced law as a licensed California attorney, his practice has focused primarily on estate planning, estate settlement, and probate court litigation matters. He has assisted well over 2,000 families with their estate planning needs with a primary focus upon assisting high net worth individuals through the creative use of life insurance trusts, limited liability companies, family partnerships, and other cutting-edge available tax avoidance techniques. Through the course of his law practice, Steven has had an opportunity to observe results of proper planning techniques, as he has shepherded hundreds of clients through the estate settlement process, including formal probate matters, trust administration, IRS Estate Tax audits and tax settlement agreements with the IRS. Steven has litigated numerous matters before the courts, and in representing clients in mediation and contested arbitration administrative proceedings. He was also a frequent panelist for University of California’s Continuing Education of the Bar tutorials.

Steven attended the University of California – Santa Barbara on a basketball scholarship, graduated from that institution with a BA in Political Science in 1972, and obtained his JD degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1975.
